The upcoming Xiaomi 13 series will have three phones, expected to be unveiled at the World Mobile Congress 2019 in Barcelona on February 24. So far we know that they will be high-spec phones with great features and improvements over previous models, including the Xiaomi Mi 9 and Xiaomi Mi 8. Here’s what we know about the specs and release date so far...

1) The processor - Qualcomm Snapdragon 888

Qualcomm has started to tease its next-gen flagship mobile processor with a new Snapdragon 888 chipset. The company claims that its latest chip will deliver improved performance, battery life, and security for smartphones, tablets, and even PCs in 2020. The chip is expected to feature four ARM Cortex A76 cores with a 2GHz frequency as well as four ARM Cortex A55 cores at 1.8GHz for power efficiency. It'll also have an Adreno 640 GPU that should offer 20% more graphics performance than the current generation of chips from Qualcomm (Snapdragon 845).

2) RAM and storage

1) The RAM on the Xioami 13 has been bumped up to 6GB. This is a huge step forward for Android smartphones, as many don't even have 4GB of RAM yet!

2) Storage space has also increased to 128GB of storage, which means you'll never run out of room for apps or media.

3) The battery life is also improved thanks to a bigger 4200 mAh battery pack that will still only take two hours to charge fully, like previous models.

- Built-in AI will automatically adjust settings like color, brightness, contrast, saturation, white balance, etc., for optimal performance in any situation—a feature that is also slated to be improved with each successive iteration of Xiaomi's hardware line this year. 

- Xiaomi also plans to include a 2700 mAh battery that can last for as much as 30 hours on standby or 10 hours of continuous video playback time.

5) Battery life

Xiaomi has been known for its excellent battery life, with many of its phones coming in with a battery life of up to two days. And this trend is expected to continue with the new series with two models boasting a battery life of four to five days on a single charge! This will be one of the best features for people who are always on-the-go or those who use their phone for work purposes. Another cool feature is that all three models come equipped with fast charging which means you can charge your device from 0% to 50% in 30 minutes! You'll never have to worry about running out of juice again!

3) The design

Xiaomi has a reputation for making affordable phones that are often considered rivals to iPhones. The company is releasing its newest lineup of devices, expected to be named the Xiaomi Mi 13 Pro, on July 2nd. 

Xiaomi is reported to be cutting back on some of the flashy design elements in its latest device as it wants to focus more on hardware performance than appearance, which should help with keeping prices low and providing a sturdy product. This is also likely in response to Apple discontinuing their lower-end iPhone SE model earlier this year, which had an outdated design but was still popular among buyers due to its affordability and good performance for a budget phone.

6) Price and release date

The Chinese tech company just announced they are set to launch the new series of phones on January 10th at CES 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The teaser videos shared by the company show a device with a design that has very little bezel around the screen, which is something that hasn't been seen in smartphones until now.

The phone will come in three models: Mi 13, Mi 15 and Mi 17. As for pricing, some reports speculate that these devices might not cost much more than their predecessors and could even be cheaper to buy than its competitors like Apple or Samsung.
