Use WhatsApp On 2 Phonses
-Can I have multiple devices signed in? Yes, as long as you log out of the first device before signing into the second device. -How do I know which messages are sent through my 2nd device? You can identify them by looking for your profile picture and last name under every message that was sent through that device.
-Will receiving messages from both my devices affect any data usage? If both your phones are connected to the same internet network, then this should not be an issue. Otherwise, it might depend on how much data each phone is using separately.
However, if you are sending messages between the two devices, you may notice increased data usage because these messages can sometimes be larger than usual due to group chats. To avoid this and save data, try replying to group chats through one device rather than having replies come from both devices at once.
Remember: if you want to send a message from just one of your devices, press the Menu icon > New Group Chat . -If I get new messages while offline or when my other device is offline, what happens? Your latest messages will automatically sync up when the other device comes back online.
But if you don't want to wait until your other device syncs back up, go ahead and open the app on the other device and refresh. You'll see all new messages appear there without needing to log out of another account or turn off notifications for one account (or toggle push notifications off).
FAQ
How do I use WhatsApp on two phones? When you install the app on your second phone, sign in with your phone number and password. We'll ask you to verify the phone number and then send a confirmation code to both numbers.
Once you enter the code on both devices, your account will be active on both phones. You can manage this by going to Settings > Account > Phone number > Change next to 'Active'. You can also set up an additional email address for this account by going to Settings > Account > Email Address and adding an email address that you want us to send a confirmation code too.
That way, if one of your phones is ever lost or stolen, we'll send a verification code there instead.
