Onion Games, one of the oldest game developers in the industry, announced today that it will release a new sandbox RPG in 2023.

Introduction

Blockyville, a new sandbox RPG by Onion Games is set to release in 2023. The game's developers have been hard at work on the game for the past five years, and are excited to finally show it off. Blockyville has been described as a sandbox game because there is no linear story line or set way of playing; the player gets to explore and create their own story. 
Different from most RPGs, where players progress through quests and battles in a top-down view with more of an emphasis on combat, Blockyville will offer more freedom for players in how they want to interact with the world.

Gameplay

This sandbox RPG will allow players to explore a vast, open world with an emphasis on exploration. The game is set in the year 2300 and takes place on a planet that is slowly dying. The player will be able to explore different biomes, each with its own ecosystem. Players can create colonies and cities as well as trade with other factions.

They can also customize their character's skillset and traits. There are four types of playable races: Androids, Clones, Mutants, and Synthetics. Alongside these there are three classes: Rogue Scientist, Operative Agent and Entrepreneur. Player actions have long-term consequences on the story and their relationships with NPCs.

There are many side quests to complete during gameplay, which may change or introduce additional events or characters. These quests provide context for exploring the environment while meeting others in your faction who may become friends or enemies later. Players can even start up new colonies if they choose, by scouting out locations for new settlements and developing them from scratch.

Characters

The player is able to play as one of three different races, each having their own unique abilities and traits. Elves are agile with a talent for archery. Dwarves are strong and tough, but slow. Orcs are naturally more powerful than either of the other two races, but have a reputation for being cruel and violent.

The player chooses which race they want to be from one of these three choices. Once the race has been chosen, players can choose from four classes: Archer, Healer, Mage or Warrior. Each class specializes in a specific skill set that benefits them in battle and exploration areas. Archers have higher hit points than any other class and can use bows from afar without taking damage; Healers possess healing spells that allow them to heal themselves or others at will; Mages are masters at elemental magic such as fireballs, ice shards, lightning bolts or even summoning familiars like bats or ravens; Warriors specialize in melee combat skills such as dual wielding swords or heavy hammers.

The Onion Games company had been relatively quiet for the past few years, but they made a major announcement to the gaming world on September 11th. The company has announced that it is in the process of developing a new sandbox RPG for release in 2023.
